A command problem faced by many Live Streaming producers is providing a stable streaming over 4G or even 3G connections. It’s a tricky problem to solve but can be done using expensive hardware such as Teradek’s Bond. If you really have the expertise then you can do things like VPN bonding to create multiple VPN connections to a remote site where you can proxy through to send your stream but there are potential pitfalls with this such as requires a lot of technical knowledge, hard to troubleshoot and can send a lot of your unwanted traffic to the offsite location.
A solution we are trying to come up with is an application RTMP proxy where your RTMP stream will be broken up into multiple streams sent over individual network connections to an offsite location where it is reassembled and forwarded onto your destination.
No change is required to your existing streaming software, RTMP Proxy is completely transparent.
RTMP Proxy is an open-source project currently in development.
